About the Lobster Shack

The East Quay building is now home to the lobster shack restaurant, with an extensive menu bringing together ideas from French Lobster Restaurants, American Clam Shacks and local produce such as Whitstable Oysters and Local Fish.

You can enjoy this restaurant while gazing out of the windows or by taking your food (and selection of soft & alcoholic drinks) just outside onto the shingle beach to take in the ambience and views of our local seaside town.

Located on the East Quay of Whitstable’s historic harbor, our restaurant offers stunning sea views along with the freshest sea food that you will find in the town – all located within the original 19th century oyster grading house. Lobsters and Oysters are still kept live in the original holding tanks directly next door to the restaurant.
